This dashboard was built by Ahaan Shah, a student at Langley High School. This map was made to monitor COVID-19 cases and deaths in the U.S. I designed this map to show the affect this pandemic is having on the U.S as it is a global issue. I got the idea to make this map because I was interested in seeing how the cases are growing over time and how people were getting affected. I felt that if I could show people how this pandemic is spreading, people might take higher precautions to stop the spread of the virus and prevent themselves from being a "dot on the map." Out of curiosity, I started mapping my region, NoVA (Norhern Virginia) to see how many cases were in my area. That peaked my curiosity to create a heat map to show how the virus was spreading around the rest of the country.
